    Wining and Dining in Rotorua

Rotorua has a great surprise in store for visitors - the city's lively café and restaurant culture. When travellers come from around the country and the globe for a taste of Rotorua's famous steaming geysers and bubbling mud pools, afterwards they can also enjoy a great dining experience.

Head out for a hearty breakfast and an excellent coffee at one of our award-winning cafés, relax over an intimate evening meal for two or explore the boutique brews at the local pubs. From casual eateries to fine dining, there's something here to appeal to everyone's tastes.

You can get to the buzzing city centre with ease from the Coachman Motel. There's a great atmosphere along the newly renovated ‘Eat Street’, one of Rotorua’s lively dining scenes. This bustling hub boasts a variety of quality restaurants, cafés and bars. Check out the Indian Tandoori, Steak House or brew bars. You can dine outdoors all year round under the covered central walkway with natural geothermal energy heating. Finish off your meal with a visit to the famous Lady Jane’s Ice Cream Parlour.

If you can't find what you fancy, there are plenty of other venues around Rotorua offering fantastic food from Mexican and Moroccan to Thai and Italian and every cuisine in between.

Try the Fat Dog Cafe & Bar with its huge meals and quirky decor, or Zippy’s, another favourite known for their salmon bagels and muffins.

For something closer to your accommodation at the Coachman, Urbano Bistro has great service, amazing baked goods and fine dining in the evenings. And it’s just a short walk home afterwards.

Sabroso is a tiny and very popular Latin American restaurant, perfect for casual dining. Try Moroccan style food at Abracadabra - it's a good place for groups. Or, if you're feeling like Japanese, sit up at the bar at Yamato Restaurant and watch the chef prepare the sushi while you have a complimentary Japanese tea.

But if you fancy a relaxing night in your comfortable room at the Coachman, why not consider a traditional Indian or Thai takeaway. If you're visiting Rotorua for the fishing, the Thai Restaurant will cook your trout for you - a memorable way to mark your amazing Rotorua holiday.
